Twelve Calendar

Berlin Fashion Week is starting today, so i suppose we are all anticipating for the great avant-garde capital city to reveal its new gems for next winter. One of the week's hottest projects is the Twelve Calendar, a collaboration between Derzeit Magazine and photographer Lena Emery, showcasing 12 of the best new models and labels from Berlin.

Born Sleepy by J.W. Anderson

J.W. Anderson's menswear collection for next fall is called Born Sleepy, and has big retro vibe with amazing knits, graphic prints, flared pants made out of tech materials and a bright colour palette. I just love the brand's spooky, ironic campaign, shot by Alex Sainsbury, featuring model Oliver Greenall from Elite London.

However, the era's morals and taboos prevented her from exhibiting her achievent. So now, almost fourty years after, her beautiful shots are being featured in the amazing book titled Tokyo Tattoo 1970, while being exhibited for the first time at the Urban Folk Gallery in Brooklyn. When i was little i was always afraid of circus people.. I thought they were some kind of monsters, really strange and unreachable. However, after growing up and being extremely lucky to work on a couple of projects with them, i had the chance to find out that they are a really special and talented race, worth to be explored. Since then, i've been reading and searsching a lot about circus people and one of my latest findings is this lovely book by Noel Daniel titled the Circus Book: 1870-1950 reporting everything about these incredible artists during these eras. Rare illusrtations and photos feature odd clowns or dazzling showgirls and aerialists with the most fancy costumes and make-up in amazing locations. A beautiful, inspiring and collectable piece.
